Based on the manga of the same name by Yumi Unita, the film Sukimasuki was directed and written by Kôta Yoshida, a familiar name in the Japanese film industry with many film adaptations made since the beginning of his career. Although his films were not highly appreciated in terms of meaning, they brought viewers the most comfortable moments of entertainment. Released in 2015, Sukimasuki is truly a very lovely, colorful story as well as showing Yoshida’s creativity.
The movie Sukimasuki begins with the guy Heisaku (Keita Machida) who is a university student, a person who is not handsome, quite mischievous and has an unusual personality. Opposite his house is the house of a beautiful female student named Fumio (Kokone Sasaki). The special thing is that the window of his room looks up to Fumio’s room window and when she leaves the curtain open, he will see her in the room, especially because he didn’t pay attention, so when she changed clothes, he was forced to peek.
Many times like that made Heisaku always curious about his friend Fumio, because they lived near each other and went to the same school, so they often met and talked to each other, but he always tried to act like he didn’t care about her even though he started to have special feelings. Interestingly, Fumio gradually realized that Heisaku was peeking at her and she even observed Heisaku through her window. Will the two of them come together in this special way? Let’s follow along.
