Island of Desire

Island of Desire is the mystery rather than the sexual extravaganza of ‘Vivamax’, which has the potential to be a hit. That should be enough for the streaming service’s largely male target audience, but for those looking for depth and clarity, Island of Desire may not satisfy. The film follows Martha, a nurse who is sent to a remote island called ‘Isla Bato’ to deliver medicine to the island’s indigenous people. When the doctor assigned to the island fails to return in time, Martha’s stay on Isla Bato is extended. As she stays longer, she uncovers secrets and mysteries that leave her bewildered and test her sanity.

A creepy cult, run by a sex maniac and abuser, roams the island. A pregnant woman gives birth to a baby goat. While completing her job as the island’s nurse, Martha meets Habal’s driver, Leloy, with whom she later falls in love. Lust Island marks Bermas fourth of Vivamax film this year, and it wouldn’t be surprising if she eventually surpasses AJ Raval for having the most Vivamax films. Her mix of innocence and charm goes some way to saving Martha from ending up as a completely boring character.
