Food Chain 2014 revolves around In-hee (Yoon Seol-hee), a skin care specialist. In-hee is married, her husband is Nam Hyeok (Kim Min Hyeok), the three of them fell in love since they were still in school and got married soon after graduating. Recently, Nam-hyeok has become increasingly self-conscious due to being unemployed for a long time, their married life is on the verge of collapse.

Feeling ashamed, one day, Nam-hyeok went to a coffee shop and pretended to be the head of a large company. From then on, he came to this place regularly, even every day, simply to be comforted by the owner of the shop, the beautiful Joo-yeon (Yeon Ji-ah).

Meanwhile, Joo-yeon’s younger brother Bong-goo (Ryoo Il-song), who works odd jobs and lives off his sister’s monthly allowance, quickly becomes captivated by Mi-ae’s (Eom Da-hye) food channel show after watching it. Although university lecturer Ji-hoon (Son Ji-wan) is only maintaining a “physical” relationship with Mi-ae, she has genuine feelings for him. Meanwhile, Ji-hoon follows Mi-ae to see a skin care specialist and meets In-hee, only to fall for her immediately…
