Flower and Snake

Based on the novel by writer Oniroku Dan, directed and written by Takashi Ishii, Flower and Snake was released to the audience in 2004, which received a lot of attention from viewers when this version was invested quite elaborately, rated higher than the 1974 version with the participation of a quality cast. It can be said that Flower and Snake 1 is not simply an 18+ movie with bold hot scenes, but it also brings meaningful messages about family affection, marital affection as well as depicting the increasing sexual illness in Japanese society.

In Flower and Snake 1, the man Toyama is a businessman lacking courage, he owes money to the Yakuza and they also have a video of him bribing a minister in the government. To clear his debt, he agrees to let them drug and kidnap his wife Shizuko (Aya Sugimoto), the queen of tango in Japan, and subject her to the abuse of a 95-year-old man who is one of the bosses of the notorious Yakuza gang. After being hooded, Shizuko is forced into sexual slavery, fighting fiercely against her captors, only submitting to them when the life of her bodyguard, Kyôko, is threatened.

Tôyama feels remorse and tries to redeem Shizuko, but by this point, she seems to be enjoying her situation.
